On the northern side of the bridge is the sestiere of Cannaregio and on the southern side is also Cannaregio .There are 2 ramps. On the north side there are 10 steps, on the south side there are 10 steps. This results in a total of 20 steps. The height of a typical step is 12 meters, the thickness of a step is about 46 centimeters, and the width of a step is about 3.7 meters. The steps are paved with Trachite. The bridge is not handicapped accessible and it does not have an additional railing. The summit is 8.33 meters wide and 5.2 meters in length for a total area of about 43.32 meters. The summit is paved with Trachite. Also, this bridge has 1 arch. The bridge's Vuoto decorato railing is made of Metallo e Pietra d'Istria and is about 4.00 meters wide is about 0.93 meters tall. The following is any history we have regarding the bridge's origins:

. In 1080 the family Cattaneo made to erect a church to St. John Chrysostom, which in 1488, for assertion of the priest Lodovico Talents there once stood in bad state pei ravages of time, to which some add those to the near fire, which occurred in 1475. It was therefore rebuilt in 1497 on the design, as he writes Flaminio Corner, architect Tullio Lombardo, but not in the old situation, but in the face of the same. It was the parish, and it was only in 1810 that it became a branch of S. Canciano. Sanudo reports that the February 3 1531 M. V. the Council de 'Pregadi imposed on the Superintendents of the City to spread her \Salizzada of S. John Chrysostom, \which was very narrow, and therefore having to land the bell tower, he allowed himself to the rector space to fabricate a new one. See \Senate, Earth,\ R. 26.
