Overview of Bridge
The Ponte de la Verona , constructed in 1864, was built primarily using Mattoni, Intonaco e Pietra d'Istria. Since then the bridge was last restored on 01-Jan-95.It crosses the Rio Menuo o de la Verona bridging a gap which is 5.36 meters. The bridge is not a crooked bridge. On the northern side of the bridge is the sestiere of San Marco and on the southern side is also San Marco .There are 2 ramps. On the north side there are 10 steps, on the south side there are 10 steps. This results in a total of 20 steps. The height of a typical step is 14 meters, the thickness of a step is about 41 centimeters, and the width of a step is about 1.57 meters.The steps are paved with Trachite. The bridge is not handicapped accessible and it does not have an additional railing. The summit is 3.3 meters wide and 2.28 meters in length for a total area of about 7.52 meters. The summit is paved with Trachite. Also, this bridge has 1 arch. The bridge's Vuoto Decorato railing is made of Metallo and is about 3.00 meters wide is about 0.92 meters tall. Finally, the bridge protrudes 0.2 meters to the North and 0.25 meters to the South.
The following is any history we have regarding the bridge's origins:
�to S. Fantino. Existed here in 1740 at the \house locante to Verona, held by Pellegrino Mandelli,\ which it paid rental amount at N. U. Peter Zusto. We find in the records of the \Superintendents of Comm\ that \the stone bridge called the Locanda di Verona in S. Fantino was rebuilt everything above, et adjusted below in ord. the termin. 22 xbre 1758. \ Formerly the \Bridge\ and the \Foundation of Verona� chiamavansi \of the Dyers ', while the' Calle della Verona\ was known under the name of \Calle della Scoletta,\ for the next school of St. Mary of Justice, now Ateneo Veneto.
